My Art:

My pottery work, created from stoneware & porcelain clay, is often whimsical but sometimes utilitarian in nature. The unique and original designed fairy & spirit houses will induce a sense of wonder and amusement. Some say they attract fairies and good spirits to bring the owner a sense of piece. The whimsical almost talking like vases tell a functional story and the face jugs are just too much fun not to create. Bud vases and oil lamps are favorite shapes of mine and functional as well, two aspects of handcrafted pottery that excite me. I fire in both gas Cone 9 reduction and Cone 6 oxidation and have played with clay for close to 40 years now. But it was my wife, Carol who brought me back to wheel throwing after a 10 year hiatus. Carol and I own and operate "The Carriage House Pottery & Art Gallery located at 2110 Main Street Rd. in Spring Grove, Illinois. The gallery represents many media and pottery items from well respected artists both US pottery and International.
